Tuesday 29th May We left Wooda on and headed south to Newquay – only a couple of hours drive down the Cornish A roads and we arrived at Rosecliston Park . We picked this park as it advertises its self as an adult only campsite offering a unique type of outdoor accommodation including rustic traditional caravan and camping. The site is beautiful and was almost empty apart from a few tents. Apparently this site is not a member of the tranquil parks group as I had thought but an adults only surfers retreat that gets very busy and loud in the summer months. Dudley surf friend Haggis popped around to say hello and we finished off the night with a camping classic of a local Indian takeaway.
Wednesday 30th May our first full day we stayed around Newquay and met up with our fiends and enjoyed an early night out in the centre of Newquay and treated ourselves to the famous Cribbar chicken wings with hot sauce.
Thursday 31st May marked the end of our first month camping – We have now stayed at seven campsites and only had one navigation error and one travel mishap as someone left the caravan storage door unlocked (mentioning no names). We set out to explore Perranporth and surrounding area and beaches, treating ourselves to a lunch in a pub overlooking the south end of the beautiful stretch of beach – we returned back to the van and spent the evening sitting in the late sun and relaxing.
Friday 1st June – Pinch Punch everyone – Stayed around the van and did some shopping then we set off at 3.30 into Newquay for an evening with our good friends Jo and Ash who had managed to knock off work early – Central and walkabout for food….
Saturday 2nd June we decided to head South to St Ives and visit some beautiful stretches of sand on the north side of Saint Ives Bay. After that we ventured thru Penzance and then onto view St Michaels Mounts – What a view…. From there we drove to St Ives and parked up for some lunch on the sea front and a wonder around the shops.
Sunday 3rd June was our last full day in Newquay and it was a scorcher – the hottest yet at around 25 degrees and sunny all day – not good for ginger folk 🙂 – We headed down to Polly Joke beach for a run with the dogs and then headed up the hill to a pub called The Bowgie Inn for Sunday lunch with a view over Crantock bay.
Then off to our favourite spot on Fistral Beach for a lazy evening with our friends, the dogs, Korev, Rattler and a sunset – Good night everyone…..
